

“Transit” was a spaceship concept that started as an experiment in animated concept art that looks close to being a render. The trick is EB Synth – free software that can take a repainted frame of a video and project it across the rest of the video’s frames. That experiment yielded the animation below, but the ship design wasn’t final there. I did more work on it for the images above.

Geometry modeled in Blender – mostly rough forms The animation is rendered in Eevee A few key frames are painted like concept art. EB Synth uses these to repaint the entire animation. Another layer of more detailed geometry is composited Color grading, lens dispersion, glare, grain and more yield the final look.
